THE ART OF IMPERFECTION
It all begins here: where Precision meets Imperfection.
We were born and raised in Isfahan, where art isn’t confined just to galleries, it lives in the rhythm of daily life, in the weave of handmade carpets, in the geometry of architecture and in the stories passed down through generations.
Precision and perfection lies at the heart of Persian art. But over time, even the most flawless creations wear down, carpets fade, edges tear, and architecture cracks. We believe this aging not only doesn’t diminish their beauty, but adds to their worth and the soul and intention of the artist are still present in that work.
Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, we don’t hide these signs of Time, we create pieces that make them more prominent and tangible. This is what we’ve always felt: that imperfection isn’t something to hide, but something that speaks a deeper truth. They carry stories. They speak of life, of footsteps, of memories.
As the founders and creators of DIBADIB, we, Ava and Shahin, don't just engage with aesthetics, we created this space to honor hands of masterful artists, particularly women, who are often invisible in the larger world of art and their voices lost in the Politics of Borders.
DIBADIB is our way of inviting you to pause, to notice the details, and to feel a connection with what endures. It’s how we ensure that these stories, designs, and traditions don’t fade with time, but continue to inspire, to connect, and to enrich the lives of those who seek meaning in art, heritage, and the hands that create.
